In 2009, the owners of HOM furniture and Gabberts came to us with a new retail furniture concept where they would buy name brand overstocks and offer them to the public on weekends only at liquidation prices. Our team developed the look, the feel, the vibe, the voice and the spirit of this retail concept, from the ground up.

The Dock 86 launch was very successful and has grown to be one of Minnesota’s largest discount furniture stores. If you visit Dock 86 today, you’ll get a feel for the powerful brand that we had so much fun developing.

Our goal with Dock 86 was to help design the absolute best customer experience possible and to build a powerful brand that would draw people in and win their loyalty so that they would become advocates of Dock 86 themselves. This was done by creating effective in-store and way-finding signage that explains the company’s philosophy about never paying full price for furniture. By 86ing middle men, high overhead and high pressure sales, all the savings goes directly to the customers.
